We said (and did) a similar thing in 2020 - we had been talking about moving to Italy for years, even viewing houses, but never taking that final step. Then during COVID (aged 58 and 60) we decided we wanted another adventure before we got too old. We bought a house at auction, sold everything within 6 weeks, and moved to Italy before December 2020 so that we could get residency before the Brexit deadline. Life is short and as you age it gets shorter - moving to Italy has been the best thing for us for lots of reasons (also possibly one of the hardest!). We don’t regret it for a moment.

I can definitely see the appeal of living on a narrow boat. I would love to read more about how you managed, where you go everything 😘

I found this an inspirational read. You're living your best life. I'm the same age as you and feel like I have another adventure in me, not sure what it is though yet.

Thank you! I never expected to be living this life and I did struggle with different aspects (I'll write about them) but go for it...better to regret having a go than regret leaving it too late 🙂
