We both continue doing this work… undoing, unlearning, untangling and redefining this process of learning to step into this main character energy. Such a wonderful process of self love 🤍. Thank you for sharing your journey, Karen. Onwards we go with curiosity leading the way 💫

I used to resent my cloak of invisibility, which crept up and over my shoulders so stealthily I didn't notice it at first.

Now I use it like a superpower.

Nothing to prove. Nothing to see here. Meanwhile on I go, plotting, silently steering my life in the direction I'd like it to take....

I can relate to that so much...yes, nothing to see here, nothing to prove or justify, only a growing sense of strength within my own self 💫

This is so beautiful, Karen. The shift from needing to "earn" your place to embracing the quiet comfort of invisibility is such a powerful perspective. It is so true that we treat ourselves like endless self-improvement projects instead of just letting ourselves exist. Navigating that midair feeling is scary, but your version of quiet main character energy sounds incredibly liberating. Thank you for this beautiful piece.

That's so perceptive Denyse...I feel as if the protective and defensive armour I've worn for years is slowly dissolving and without it, I feel more steady within myself. Have a great week x

I feel exactly the same way - projecting outwards to care and look after others and then wondering what to do when kids, work etc don’t need us so much

Hi Karen - this resonated deeply with me because it's how my life is unfolding in my 60's. My blog post tomorrow is about it being okay to lead a boring life while others are out and about living large... I loved what you've written so much that I'm adding one of your paragraphs into my post because you said it so perfectly (and I've linked it back to you). Let's hear it for an unperformative second half of life - it's such a quiet joy. x

Dear Karen, I'm reading this in a warm bed before I get up I sensed a flow of contentment and acceptance that feels gentle and loving emanating from your words. It's like a deep sigh "ahhhhhh". Enjoy your self discovery time! I think it's a wonderful time for me so hope it's similar for you! Denyse x
